Cole Howe is the pastor of Moab Baptist Church in Moab, Utah, serving in this role since November 1998.  He is a Wyoming native and United States Air Force veteran (1989-1993).

On December 1, 1980, while attending Grace Baptist Church in Cody, Wyoming, Cole was born-again.  He was led to Christ by the then-Youth & Assistant Pastor, Tom Rickard.  He was baptized into the membership of Grace Baptist a few weeks later by Pastor Harvey Seidel.

High School sweethearts, Cole and Cindy (Watkins) were married in June 1991, and have three married children - Caitlyn (Mrs. Bob Oswald), Catrina (Mrs. Stefan Christensen), and Caleb (Makinna Higgins).  They have five absolutely gorgeous granddaughters (Tori, Chloe, Nora, Mia, & Hallie), and two completely terrific grandsons (Judson & Hugh).

Since their marriage, the Howe’s have ministered in lay positions in churches in Las Vegas, Nevada and Casper, Wyoming.

The Howe’s moved from Thermopolis, Wyoming where Cole had been the Assistant and Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church, to Moab when he became the pastor of Moab Baptist.  He was ordained into the ministry on January 17, 2006, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry (Pastoral Ministry) from Bethany Divinity College of Dothan, Alabama.

In 2019 Cole became the Director of Baptist Church Planting West, a church-planting ministry that was founded in 1983 by Dr. Harvey Seidel.  Baptist Church Planting West is a ministry of Moab Baptist Church, currently facilitating summer pastoral internships in the Intermountain West for Bible college men.

Growing up in a Christian home, becoming a Christian, and faithfully serving the Lord in his local churches through various roles (teacher, trustee, deacon, music leader, bus worker, assistant pastor, pastor) and with assorted responsibilities, as well as being in full-time vocational ministry for several decades in the ever-evolving rural West, has given Cole insight into the triumphs and challenges of western churches.

Cole is a Certified Church Consultant through Church Consultation University with Church Answers.  He has a desire to “strengthen that which remains” by encouraging Baptist and Baptistic churches and their pastors in the Mountain West region of the United States to remain active, viable, and thriving.

Pastor Howe enjoys reading (Zane Grey, Louis L'Amour, Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, A.W. Tozer, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Charles Spurgeon, J.C. Ryle, Paul Chappell, R.B. Ouellette, John Phillips, and various Christian biographies, authors, and subjects), serving in the local church ministry, hunting, fishing, being with his children and their spouses, doing grandpa stuff, and definitely spending time spent with Cindy (anything she wants to do...even the mall!).
